From humble beginnings

It all started when...

The Boyd family moved from Denver, CO to Colorado Springs, CO in 1986. Shortly thereafter the family entered the lifelong relationship with the automotive industry. In 2003, active involvement in racing began with Derek competing in local autocross events during his high school years. From 2006 to 2012 the racing had gone quiet while the family grew and attended college but the strong ties with the automotive industry, continually facilitated by Marvin, brought about an unexpected addition: the 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X. Thus, with the full support of the whole family, the Boyd Auto Racing team was born.
